Our Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) activities in Thaba Tseka take a holistic approach to sustainably tackling the issues the community face. This includes: education surrounding infectious diseases, constructing waterless toilets, and working with the local community, government and NGO’S to develop future water projects.
Toilets
In many schools across Thaba Tseka District, inadequate or no toilet facilities result in open defecation - this impacts the children’s’ health, dignity and safety. With thanks to a grant from Hub Cymru Africa and in partnership with TED Biogas, we will construct 17 toilets at Thaba Tseka Primary School.
Responding to a request for support from Basotho teachers in Thaba Tseka, teachers from Wales will spend 6 months from January 2018 training and supporting teachers and student teachers to deliver the new Lesotho curriculum on Infectious Diseases in primary schools.
